There’s something utterly magical about the scent of lavender—soothing, calming, and timeless. Inspired by the fragrant fields of lavender in Grasse, France, the birthplace of perfume, this lavender syrup brings a touch of Provence right to your kitchen. As you prepare this elegant syrup, let the aromatic scents of our candles crafted in Grasse transport you to the rolling lavender fields and warm southern French sun.

The non-toxic, GMO-free wax ensures a clean and eco-conscious burn, creating the perfect atmosphere for creating this exquisite syrup. This lavender syrup is the perfect accompaniment for drinks, desserts, or simply drizzled over a warm sponge cake. It’s a versatile, elegant addition that brings a touch of Provence to any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender buds (or fresh if available)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method:

  1. Prepare the Lavender:
    If using fresh lavender, strip the buds from the stems. For dried lavender, simply measure out the buds.

  2. Combine Sugar and Water:
    In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium until the sugar has completely dissolved.

  3. Infuse the Lavender:
    Add the lavender buds to the syrup mixture and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the syrup thickens slightly and the lavender aroma is fully infused.

  4. Strain and Add Lemon:
    Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain out the lavender buds. Add the lemon juice, if using, to balance the sweetness and enhance the flavour.

  5. Cool and Store:
    Let the syrup cool, then transfer it to a clean bottle or jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Drizzle over pancakes, waffles, or French toast for a floral twist on breakfast.
  • Add a spoonful to sparkling water or lemonade for a refreshing, fragrant drink.
  • Use as a topping for ice cream or yogurt, or mix into cocktails like gin and tonic or a lavender martini.
